parislemon - If life hands you a parislemon, make some parislemonade

I just spent ten minutes reading parislemon and I want to tell you his Google Earth Sunrises is a great read and the spectrum and scope of his articles kept my interest and although I’m not going to stand up for McDonald breakfasts all day I definitely agree with his assement of Tiger Woods. As  for a blog Rating I give this one a 4.8 out of 5.0!

Finding A $900 Cheaper Airline Ticket

The title of this post may be a little misleading but I think you’ll find the read worth while. A couple of weeks ago I need to make a quick flight from Lewiston, ID to Eureka, CA. Not an emergency just a grammar school coach of mine celebrating his eightieth birthday. This is where I found a $900 cheaper  airline tickets for a choice when you need an airline ticket.  The air fare price I found were ridiculous and varied from $1,700 to $800 depending on when I flew.  The most expensive ticket did not even get me to Eureka.  This review was paid for - MarkH

Two blogs worth looking at

One of the classiest blogs I’ve found on the Internet is http://blog.theavclub.tv/ and it is a Google PR4 with 28 backlinks. We’ll need to look into this – using a subdomain for a blog, never thought of that and obviously Google loves it.

Then if you’d like to read reviews of blogs take a peek at http://ruminatethissite.blogspot.com/ there are several reviews of both blogs and web sites and the author likes to write and of course, ruminate.

Target Adsense’s custom channels for ad placements.

There is another article over at “Inside AdSense by Inside AdSense Team” that is well worth looking at if you want to get top bucks off your Adsense clicks. Part of the article: “As you may know Adsense’s custom channels are a great way to track the performance of individual ad units on your pages. Starting this week, with just a few extra steps you can make your site more attractive to advertisers by allowing them toCreating ad placements for more visible and desirable ad locations on your site increases their value to advertisers using site targeting and encourages those advertisers to bid more.” well if that sounds interesting I suggest you spend a few minutes reading the whole article - I’m going to work on one site right now. New review on the use of the MS’s Vista

There is an article by Joli Ballew over at Microsoft about use of the new OS Vista. She says: “I finally got my hands on the finished product. Experiencing Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate, I was so excited I had to call in my family to show them the cool new features available right from the desktop. Days later I’m still floored by the breathtaking visual design and the easy-to-use and easy-to-access search and organizational tools.”

Joli Ballew is a Microsoft Windows XP Expert Zone and Windows Vista Community columnist and the author of almost two dozen books, including the upcoming Breakthrough Windows Vista with Microsoft Press. Joli can be contacted at joli_ballew@hotmail.com and does her very best to answer every e-mail message she receives from readers. This article published January 17, 2007.

Google’s Adsense has Updated Program Policy (TOS)

Here is the word from Inside AdSense by Inside AdSense Team: “Call it getting a jump on spring cleaning: we’ve launched a new version of the AdSense Online Program Policies today. We’ve tried to make the format more readable, so those of you who start the day with a cup of coffee and a copy of the Program Policies may notice that much of the wording is new. Nearly all of the policies themselves have stayed the same, but we encourage everyone to take a look at the new version, if only to re-familiarize yourself with the details.” Yo can read the complete details HERE

I read it and can tell you it is a BIG improvement in presentation. I didn’t see anything new but the copy was a whole lot more understandable. This is a “must read” for anyone using AdSense.

Starting Your Own Web Design Business

You will need to be able to create web pages and to do that will either need to know Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), which is a relative easy programming language. For the day to day design work you probably will buy and learn to use one of the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editors. However, learning the basics of HTML is still a prerequisite to starting a successful web design shop even if you use one of the canned HTML editors. Buy yourself a HTML reference book and a good find one is at the Dummies web site.

There are several very good WYSIWYG HTML editors for sale such as Microsoft’s FrontPage 2003 which is about to be replaced (2007) with Microsoft Expression Web Designer. Another excellent HTML editor is Macromedia’s - DreamWeaver 8. FrontPage is probably the best choice for a beginner while DreamWeaver is a bit more sophisticated it is also more difficult to learn. In addition to these two HTML editors there are many more available and a search for “HTML editors” on Google returns over seven million web sites.

Next you will need a hosting company to display your web site and there are hundreds to choose from. You may want to start cheap and the domain name registrar GoDaddy.com has server space for rent that will host a small web site for a very reasonable price. Or looking ahead you may even choose one of the companies offering reseller hosting plans so that you will be able to host the web site that you design thereby creating a built in source of reoccurring income. After trying almost a dozen different hosting companies BlackGyr now uses midPhase and recommends their service without reservation for their support, reliability and price.
